Curiosity~tell me why~

Last January 1st I read forum about a head pastor that had an argument with a non-member of his church. The non-member asked why did God let the first born male children died in Egypt. I don't know exactly happened, but the response of the pastor is summed up to the statement: there are things that should be accepted the way they are, and that's open-mindedness. I agree with what he have said, but maybe the reason why this non-member seemed cantankerous is because his questions weren't answered directly. He wanted to be enlightened, so he is seeking for answers. Knowing that he is the head pastor, stereotyped as intelligent, the non-member presumed that his questions to a head pastor would be given clarity. But, it seems like that wasn't the case. If the Pastor was able to give the answers that the non-member needs to know, would there be such kind of issue? And, based on the exchanges of posts in the forum thread between the non-member's friend and the head pastor, shouldn't he said things in a calm, convincing way rather than his provocative, condemning tone? I want to ask this question, is that open-mindedness?

The moment I read that forum, I also asked myself: why did God allowed it to happen? Of what I have understood on the Bible story I have read, this massive killing of the the first born male children is a punishment, not to the children but to the Egyptians and the Pharaoh for enslaving His people of Israel. First born male children are the heir of their father. Killing the first born male children of Egyptians, including the son of the Pharaoh, removes the heirs of the enslaving land. It's like cutting the effect from its root.

“But I will punish the nation they serve as slaves, and afterward they will come out with great possessions.”(Genesis 15:14)

One step CLOSER...

First of all I would like to give my utmost gratitude to our GOD ALMIGHTY AND HIS SON JESUS CHRIST, for I have been broken, but through His grace I am healed and become better person, a closer child of Him. I've committed lots of mistakes, but through His discipline, He corrects my flaws. The road to being a true Christian is less travelled by some O Lord, but I am willing to walk through it and partake my role to Your marvellous design.

To MY PARENTS who are always there in spite of my secretive and mercurial temperament, thank you very much. Through that incident, I feel blessed and grateful that we've become more open about our thoughts and closer  with each other. I may have been existing for the past 21 years of your lives and levelled up in preparation to my career path, but no matter what happens, always remember that I'll be forever your baby Tona,:) konting tiis na lang po, mapapalago din natin ang AJ's Sari-sari Store to SM Supermarket's prestigious level, teeheeheehee!n_n

To my CANTOR COUSINS, couz, kaunti na lang magiging engineer na si ate AA niyo,n_n A piece of advice from your manang: No matter what happens, always remember: NEVER GIVE UP ON LIFE TRIALS, for God is always with you. HE NEVER GIVES UP ON YOU. Be optimistic, for you to be able to hear His voice and perceive His plans for you. Always seek His guidance. Pakisabi kay LOLA DOTE, bassit laengen, makakauwi na ang panganay niyang apo sa Pangasinan dala ang lisensiya bilang isang inhinyerong kimika,:)

To my BEST FRIENDS, CLOSE FRIENDS and FRIENDLY FRIENDS from SBDCC, SMDS, LDHS, and UST, especially to my UST ChE C 2012 FAMILY, thank you very much for all the care, concern, encouragements, beautiful memories, sermons, lessons and understanding you have given me. You have carved a great part of my life that makes me smile, cry and laugh every time I reminisce a montage of memories. You are one of the main reasons why I become this person who I am now. I'll cherish these until my last breath.

To UST Faculty of Engineering, former Dean Josefin De Alban and current Dean Philipina Marcelo, former and current Faculty Council members, to the Chemical Engineering Department, former Chairperson Dr. Edna Quinto and current Chairperson Prof. Lola Domnina Pestaño, to the Chemical Engineering Department members with special mention to Engr. Andrew Tengkiat and thesis adviser Dr. Maria Natalia Dimaano, to the UST Dominican priests, my deepest gratitude for all the considerations and support you have shown. I wish for your longevity of nourishing and inspiring new generations of Thomasian students through academic and real-life lessons, especially Thomasian Chemical Engineering students, inside and outside the university.

To DOST – SEI and UST – Engineering Class of '76, thank you for the financial and moral support you have given me. Like what the alumni have told, I'll never, never be complacent. I'll keep on growing, nurture all the aspects of my being. For every lessons I will learn, borrowing the tag line of Ryoma Echizen, I'll never fail to say “mada mada da ne!(There are still a lot of things that should be learned.)”

With all the changes I have gone through for my entire college life, from being a timid girl turned fan girl turned passionate lady turned God-loving person, I must say, HINDI KO PINAGSISISIHANG PINANINDIGAN KO ANG CHEMICAL ENGINEERING & UST SINCE THAT 11TH OF APRIL 2007, in spite of the myriad temptations to give up my course and school, for these experiences in my book of life made me stronger and become a better, a mature person.

Thank you for this new stepping stone, my Lord. I'll never let go, never stop believing in You.

One step CLOSER. . .n_n

Alis Volat Propriis by Octavio Storace

This is my favourite poem at the moment, hope you will like it too!n_n

A butterfly flies across the dark sky
And comes upon a brilliant light, nearby
She finds herself amidst its glow
Drawn closer by its impressed show
She dances delightedly in its warmth
Her wings fluttering back and forth
But the light, both a friend and foe
Now causes this dear creature such woe
She finds her sulken wings are charred
Her perceptions, suddenly so marred.
She sinks into the dark abyss of night
A remnant of her former self in flight
There she lay, trembling in the dark
She seems so lifeless, with little spank
Then, gradually, to my sheer delight
Her singed wings lift her up with might
She flies with her own wings, yet frayed
And amongst the garden flowers she plays
She flies with her own wings, yet still frail
A testament that her love for life prevails.

Faith Goals a.k.a. New Year's Resolution

I don't usually make a list of things that I would change to myself or the so-called "New Years Resolution". People usually would say, "Hindi rin naman matutupad 'yan eh." ut now, as I think about it, with that kind of mindset, I'm just limiting myself to grow up and giving myself an excuse not to level up. And also, I would like to make this 2013 different by challenging myself. So here it goes! :)

1. I'll stay optimistic round the clock
Yeah right, I'm a self-confessed pessimistic during the first half of 2012, but as I gain confidence and strength through hardships, I desired and decided to maintain this acquired character throughout year 2013.

2. I'll regain my control on my whole being
you read it right, "regain my control" with an emphasis on the word "regain". When I was still young( younger than 12 years old), I can control myself -- my emotions, my mindset, my behaviour -- when I mingle with people and when I'm alone. And now, I want to return that attitude, that mindset, that controlled emotion,:)

3. I'll protect and increae the level of my dignity and integrity
When I was at still second year high school, I came to a point when I need to choose between protecting my dignity and integrity and relationship(not the romantic type okay! Just making things clear, teehee). I was still immature then( I was just 12 years old back then),  my character wasn't that solid and I have this trauma that made me choose relationship over dignity and integrity. Well, I don't have any regret though, because I was able to gain friends that turned out to be one of my close friends as we go along the run,:) But now, this two characteristics are very essential in order for you to survive in the "Real World"( this is base on real life experiences my friend, and I've seen how losing it can badly affect your life, trust me in here!:)), so before I enter the "Engineering World" that awaits me, I want to prepare myself through this in order to attain my goals,:) From now on, I won't do things out of desperation,:)

4. I'll be more of a God-pleasing person than people-pleasing person
As I become closer and closer to God, I want to please Him, and so that I would be stay put on the track that I should be travelling on,:)

5. I'll read the Bible more often
Before 2012, the last time that I can still remember that I've read the Bible was when I was still at a Dominican school. I chose to stop reading the Bible not because of the change in school(from Dominican school in elementary to Public school in high school), but because of an obscure memory I have back when I was young(this one is different from my trauma). That memory was a bloody one.

6. I'll move on from my heart break
This is it pancit!:) I found the right justifications, self-esteem and courage to finally move on,:) Add to that, I'll stop being that "bitter gourd", teeheehee

7. I'll stop being so judgemental
Because of my observant and silent nature, I've been criticizing and judging people inside of my head. So now, I'll be more considerate in knowing one's character, and will make ways to know them better,:)

8. I'll try to make the time gold
I'm a self-proclaimed time-boundless person,:) I'm not easily pressured by time. But, now, I would really, really put a great effort to change this mindset Carpe diem~ *wink wink*

9. I'll read more self-help books
To keep me learning things, not just chemical engineering lessons but also real life lessons, I'll invest on good books that will help my maturity grow,:)

Well, that's it for now. I'm looking forward to December 31,2013 smiling while reading and saying,
"Thank you Lord, I learned new things again. We did it!" ^v^

Finding The Right Guy

My "Jonathan"-friend forwarded this e-mail to me during my "Desperation" era. I'm posting it here in my blog 'cause this is worth reading for single women like me,n_n

"If Men Were Like Buses, How Do I Catch One?" by Michelle McKinney Hammond

If men were like buses, how do you catch one?  A more important question is - how do you catch the RIGHT one
Simple: You take only the bus that's headed the RIGHT direction.  First we must allow our Heavenly Father to do the picking.  And second, the decision for a mate must be made on a spiritual and intellectual basis before it's made on an emotional one
What about love?, you ask. I’ll tell you why. “The heart is deceitful above all things and beyond cure. Who can understand it? (Jer. 17:9). The heart is wilful and is driven by its own agenda It does not consider things rationally and intelligently – it just loves to love! Therefore, you have to point it in the right directions: “Above all else, guard your heart, for it is the wellspring of life” (Proverbs 4:23).
Whenever you meet a man, you need to get clearance from God, check out his attributes, and then allow your heart to engage.  Dating exists not for mating; it exists for collecting data. I believe that the biblical design would be friendship, courtship and then marriage.  Friendship is two people walking together in agreement and accountability, learning and growing together.  Courtship follows the mutual agreement to commit to one another exclusively - it is the decisive turning toward the agreed-upon goal of the marriage altar.  It is a period of laying a foundation and preparing your life together after marriage.  But dating?  Well, if you do date, use the time wisely to gather facts.  So when you do gather facts, let us compare the process to clothes shopping.
Check out the fabric.  Is the person mate material?  Does this man have an intimate relationship with the Father through Jesus Christ?  Does he care what God thinks about his behavior?  Is he accountable to God as well as another co-laborer in the faith?  Accountability is an important factor.  It is imperative to maintaining a committed relationship.  Is your potential spouse a member of the same family -the family of God?  Scripture is clear on this: "Do not be yoked together with unbelievers.  For what do righteousness and wickedness have in common?  Or what fellowship can light have with darkness?"  (2 Cor 6:14).  You need to have common interest and values and agree on the essentials of living day to day.  You have a similar spiritual walk.  You eat the same diet.  You enjoy a lot of similar things.  You have like interests, like goals in life, like opinions on basic life issues.  You have had like experiences in your background.  Though there is some truth to the idiom that opposites attract, like-minded folks fare better together.  Furthermore, does he want to get married?  If you want to be married and your dreamboat isn't interested, don't waste your time.  Remember, women fall in love and get married. Men decide to get married and then look for a wife. Note the difference in order.  So if a guy says he's not looking for anything serious, take his words seriously.  If he's not going your direction, get off the bus & wait for the right one.

Does this man want you?  Is he pursuing you?  The man who is right for you will pursue you and God's hand in the relationship will be clear.  No guessing, no fleeces, no dead ends.  Scripture says: "He who finds a wife finds what is good and receives favor from the Lord" (Prov 18:22).  Note - who finds whom?  THE MAN FINDS THE WIFE.  From the beginning of time, God has transported men & women across the world in order to put them together.  At the RIGHT TIME, He will bring that man on the scene and he will find you.  In God's perfect design, the man is the one who recognizes his mate.  Adam has no problem recognizing that Eve was his missing rib.  You do not need to strategically place yourself anywhere.  You don't have to help a guy because he's shy.  Men will do whatever they have to do to get what they truly want. The man in your life should recognize you as the pearl of great price in his life and be willing to do whatever he must in order to gain your hand.  If he is passive about gaining your affections, take it as a sign that he is not interested.  Many a woman's mother has suggested that it is a good idea to marry a man who loves you more than you love him.  As cold as that sounds, it actually might be scriptural if you stop to think about it: "We love him because he first loved us" (1 Jn 4:19). Until then, take the ultimate chill pill.  You don't need a bunch of men in your life to make you feel all right about yourself.  You need only one man - your man, the one God has selected to select you.  And trust me, the right man at the wrong time can be just as awful as the wrong man at any time.  So trust God's timing in this.  He is the ultimate matchmaker.  Relax, sit pretty and allow yourself to be found. Again - WAIT until the man voices his intentions.  He should take the lead in establishing the relationship.  You may have an inkling that he is the one, but God will use the man to set the tone of the relationship.  Allow him the opportunity to woo you - this is your first act of submission.  Jesus set the standard for all men to follow.  They should love us first.  And they should lead the relationship.. DO NOT SEDUCE A MAN AND DO EVERYTHING TO MAKE HIM PURSUE YOU!!!! The man in your life should not desire to move into your house, only into your heart.  A man who prepares for your future has made his intentions clear.  A man who is husband material has the means to take care of a wife.  He is a responsible human being who understands he needs to have something to offer.  In short, a man should have the means to be suitable for you.
Check out his buddies.  Everyone knows birds of the same feather flock together, yet most women fail to see the connection between a man and his friends.  A man's pals tell you a lot about the person that you haven't seen yet.  They reveal things about the guy's character that might be hidden when he is on good behavior.  Everyone knows how to put his best foot forward.  Don't stay focused on the foot, check out the rest of the body!
heck out his relationship with his mother.  How does he treat her? This is your preview of how he will treat you.  There are lots of men who, because of a negative relationship with their mothers, really don't like women, yet say they do.  Unresolved issues between mother and son continue between husband and wife.
Remember that a man's family reveals the cloth from which he's cut.  Take note and decide whether you want your future with the man in your life to look like his present family situation.

Check out the patterns of his life.  Do you see repeated cycles of drama in his personal kingdom?  Broken relationships?  Problems in making commitments?  Including the job market?  Mood swings?  Is a problem always someone else's fault?  Does he embrace responsibility or shirk it?  Does he keep his promises?  Is he a man of good reputation?  Remember all garments look wonderful hanging in the store, but with wear, some begin to wrinkle.  Give yourself time and space to check out the man in your life.  Time will always reveal whether or not he is made of the right stuff. TEST... TEST... CHECK HIM OUT... Does this man have a vision for his life?  Is he running with that vision?  Remember, God decided Adam needed help once Adam got busy DOING his assignment.  As we saw Adam, a man doesn't need help until he is busy doing what he was created and called to do.  Is your guy guided by a sense of destiny and purpose, or does he just allow life to happen around him?  A man who is not certain of his mission can be a most miserable person - and you'll be miserable too if you know where YOU want to go in life.  A man who has vision, is not intimidated by a woman whose mission statement is clear.  He will be your best ally, cheerleader and assistant because he wants you both to make it!  A man who cannot be a supportive of your achievements because he is floundering in a sea of uncertainty over his own life is not a healthy partner to have and to hold forever.  Creating dependencies or feelings of obligation is not the way to get the best out of your man.  Somewhere along the way, he will resent you and flee from the smothering burden of obligation he associates you with.  You want a man who is firmly anchored in his identity in Christ.  Remember, we are looking for a man who will be priest and leader of his home.  His first instinct should be to want to cover you, redeem you, and provide for you.  Your job is to decide if this is the man God has ordained for you to complement.

Complementarities.  Do your talents and gifts complement his?  Do his gifts complement yours?  What about your temperaments?  Do you see the two of you as an effective team capable of bringing blessing to the lives of those around you? Do your futures mesh?  Can you coordinate your gifts in an attractive and effective way?  This is why knowing your purpose is so important.  Make sure your hearts beat for mutual causes.  When I go shopping always consider the fabric, the fit and what I already have in my closet.  Will my next purchase be a complementary addition to what I already have?  If I find that I am going to have to buy shoes and matching accessories to go with a new outfit, I leave it right on the rack.  It is too expensive a proposition.  If the man you meet makes you feel that you need to completely reinvent yourself, something is wrong.  This is where I ask you to consider the relationship in terms of cost.  Is this relationship expensive spiritually, emotional or physically?  Does your longing for a mate make you willing to forfeit who you are in the process?  Or does he see you as the gift that you are?  The man in your life should consider you a rare find, a priceless jewel - because of you he is getting ready to get blessed big-time!  Any relationship that causes you to feel unworthy, unlovely, unacceptable, undesirable or that causes you to work for love is too expensive!  God has called the man to cover, protect and provide not only materially for a woman but emotionally and spiritually as well.  You should be richer in mind, body and spirit for your union with the man of your dreams.  The man in your life should make rich deposits into your heart and spirit, not withdrawals.
Does he have a healthy love & acceptance of himself?  Make sure the man in your life has taken time to heal from past relationships and has made peace with himself.  How he cares for himself is how he will care for you.  A man's relationship with God is crucial here.  His love for himself will only be as strong as his love for God.  This is not something that you can impart.  You cannot be his savior or teacher.  That is out of spiritual order.  In his rightful place as your personal priest, he should be leading you to a richer relationship with Christ.  If he is causing you to compromise your faith and destabilize your walk, if he is leading you into sexual sin or causing you to be distracted from your commitment to Christ, the relationship is too expensive.  Offending the Lover of your soul, who promises you eternal love, is too high a fare to pay for a ride that has a limited run.  If you and your man can't soar in the Spirit, when the force of your love for another is tested by the pull or gravity of the world, your union will not be able to survive.  So you decide.  How much is your life worth?  How much is your love worth?  You will be able to accept only what you believe you deserve.  God himself calculated the worth of your love and decided it was worth His life.  He now pledges you His love for eternity.  Yes, Jesus sets the example for all others to follow when He paid a ransom for His bride.  Should you expect less from a mortal man?  Throughout the biblical age, men were willing to pay the cost for the hand that they desired.  The truth of the matter is, everyone knows that anything worth having, costs.  And no one gets a ride in this life for free.

I will...~a letter for my TWIN FLAME~

My dearest Twin Flame,

Maybe we already met each other. Maybe I have known you for a long time. Met you when I was still at school. Met you after attending my piano lesson. Met you on a station where I waited for the Jeep or train o arrived. Met you when I was still a child. Met you when I was confined in the hospital. Or maybe one of the people I just passed by. Or people I met through friends. Or maybe I have known you but you haven't known me before or vice versa. Or maybe we haven't met each other at all. Whoever you are, I am looking forward for the perfect time, perfect moment and perfect place that God has planned for us to meet or meet again.

While I'm waiting for you to come, I promise to heal myself and keep on growing up through Christ, to be prepared by the time of our roads unite. I'll do my best to change myself, be suitable to your purpose, wants and needs. I'll do good in the career I've chosen, be one of the sturdiest as I bounce back from the rock bottom I am on now. I read a book entitled “How to Mend A Broken Heart” by Pastor Nelson T. Dy so that I'll be totally healed by the time we will be together. I secretly fell in love with a guy who didn't have any idea about my feelings, thinking he was you. It was a mistake. It was one-sided, an unrequited love. Still, I am thankful for the heart break, I learned a lot of things, and I believe that heart break will bring me to you. I also read the book “The Road Less Traveled” by M. Scott Peck so by the time we will have our own family, I will be able to help you in nurturing our children with the love that is right and unconditional. I will help you in preparing our kids in facing the hard knocks of life that awaits for them every single day. I am currently reading the book “Men are From Mars, Women are From Venus” by John Gray for me to be able to accept and understand the differences between the nature of a man and woman, so that I will be able to understand you at instances when you become grumpy or problematic at our home from work. I also read the classic British novel “Jane Eyre” by Charlotte Brontë, book of Ruth and engraved Proverbs 31:10-31 in my heart, to guide me in improving myself and be that woman of noble character for you.

I love listening music from different genre – from Yiruma's classical music to Repablikan's rap – and country – from Japan's J-pop to America's country music. Do you like the music or at least most of the songs I have heard? Old songs make me feel happy and groovy, do you feel the same way too? I have a child living inside my heart. I have an undying fandom on cute and pretty characters and personality like Mirmo, Ayumi Hamasaki, Tweety Bird, Barbie, Hello Kitty, Kerokerokeropi, Badtz-Maru, and Cinnamoroll. Will you be able to accept and understand my childishness? I'm a fan of fashion and art, will you wear the suits and clothes for men that I will design? Will you wear the suits and clothes I'll buy for you when you go to work? Will you appreciate every art I will draw and paint? I love travelling, seeing the beauty of man-made and God's creation with my own eyes, do you love that too? I also love poetry, will you like to write poems with me on the future? I love reading Psychology and self-help books, do you like such books too? I am walking my path with Jesus Christ, are you walking with Him now too? I love doing food trips, eating foods like street and exotic foods, do you like to eat such foods too? I am inquisitive, love to do and discover new things, will you tolerate my unending curiosity? Though I am loud and tomboyish around my family and friends, I'm still a woman, I'm emotional, will you love me for what I am? I have a past that is obscure, can I entrust it to you, and accept my past that's part of me? I'm not pretty, will you love my personality including my flaws? I am also a bit sensitive and weirdo, will you protect my vulnerability and promise that you won't make fun of it? I trust people easily, will you trust me the way I do and promise to not say that I'm gullible?

I hope that when the right time comes that we will meet or meet again, gathered enough courage to confess your feelings towards me, we are both ready to face the world and forever with each other. I am looking forward to the hugs and kisses we will share with each other, to the anniversary and festivities we will celebrate together, to the Sundays we will spent with God together, to the letters and poems we will exchange with each other, to the trials we will conquer together, to the movies we will watch together, to the songs we will listen to and sing together, to the meals we will eat together with our mini-Mes, to the prayers we will utter together, to the times we will read Bible verses to each other, to the T.V. shows we will watch together, to the spiritual, petty and shaggy talks we will end peacefully to keep us on growing up together, to the tears that you will wipe out from my cheeks during our downfalls, to the twist and turns of the life we will ride together, to the jokes and laughs we will share together, to the future where we will spent our lifetime together.

No matter what happens I will be waiting for you, my TWIN FLAME. . .^_^

With love,
Your Twin Flame
